What You’ll Do
IronArch seeks a Technical Writer to join our Growth team. The Technical Writer will be responsible for the solutioning, development, management, and submission of our technical bid & proposal and sales content. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of personal technical experience to the table derived from billable/client-facing experiences.
They will have a perspective on appropriate solutions based on individual program needs, with a good grasp of leading SaaS, PaaS, and custom solutions. They must embrace product-thinking, SAFe/Agile principles, and the Digital services playbook.
The technical writer iteratively drafts clear, concise, compelling, and compliant responses to RFPs and RFIs, partner and customer inquiries, and in the development of whitepapers and social media posts. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to perform well under pressure, a positive attitude, comfort with ambiguity, deep curiosity, and a holistic approach to complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Analyze and decompose Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Task Orders, and Sources Sought notices to understand the customers’ technical requirements
- Collaborate with Business Development, Capture Management, business partners, and subject matter experts to develop innovative technical approaches, incorporate win themes, and articulate discriminators
- Facilitate and/or support solution sessions as a precursor to initiating of writing activities
- Lead iterative development, editing, recovery, and smoothing of technical proposal responses, beginning with a concept of operations
- Conduct or support proposal reviews with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards, including readability, consistency, and tone; and maintaining proposal databases/repositories
- Obtain feedback from internal and external stakeholders as “lessons learned” and effectively leverage that information for future proposal efforts
- Support the development and maintenance of the proposal content library and related documentation to include capability statements, white papers, past performances, management plans, and other related proposal content
- Proofread and edit proposal content from subject matter experts
- Coordinate the internal flow and review of all proposal inputs and outputs
- Support capability statements, briefings, and other marketing materials in addition to proposals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably STEM
- 3+ years of Technical sales/proposal development experience
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team to develop compelling technical proposal materials
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to interview and work with subject matter experts when requirements exceed individual experience
- Ability to develop graphic concepts to illustrate and clarify complex systems (Procreate, inDesign, Illustrator)
- Experienced with MS Office suite as a power-user
